My girl is official SIX and a HALF! In July, we celebrated Emma Kate's half birthday with a special breakfast and a treat! Emma Kate is growing up so much and becoming a sweet young lady. A few words to describe her this year: singer, dancer, artist, equestrian, indian, imaginitive player, justin beiber lover, and rockstar girl!
She started piano lessons this summer and has leaped into first grade! In August she lost her front tooth! My sweetie! I love me some Emma Kate!

Roller Derby
Emma Kate and Owen learned to roller skate this summer! Well...baby steps anyway!
I have so many memories of spending every Friday NIGHT at Skate City in Lake Charles with my sisters, Alicia and Amber! It was the place to be for sure! Grovin' on the rink to the "Hokey Pokey" and speed skating! My sister broke the same arm twice skating, yet we all still loved it A LOT! Remember the disco ball and the BIG skate the birthday kid would get to ride in around the ring! Good Times!

PawPaw, the f arm, the zoo and LAMAs too!
My dad came to visit in June and we had a great time together! We stayed in a cabin on a farm in Asheboro. The kids loved the oinkin' pigs, goats and lamas! Owen really communicated with those little piggies, too! We all enjoyed our first visit to the NC Zoo and can't wait to go back! One day we went to the IMAX to see Born to be Wild, a great film about chimpanzees and elephants! Thankfully they did not have chimps for sale or else the kids would have convinced PawPaw to buy one! Can't wait until you come again dad! We will always remember - LOL ..... "laugh out lama!"
Beach Babies!
We were blessed to have a the opportunity to go to the beach with some dear family friends - Mrs. Shirley, YaYa and Poppy! We had some much fun splashing in the waves and swimming in the pool! The kids and I built a life-sized mermaid that Owen "inadvertantly" stepped/destroyed, then the waves washed her away!
Emma Kate and Owen have both big on a huge Kung Fu Panda "kick" and faithfully practice their moves... even on the beach! "Wax on, Wax off" --- how we clean the counters! "Paint the fence" -- how we wipe down the cabinets! Oh Karate kid, it is all about the discipline! :)

May 22, 2011
We celebrated Owen's fourth birthday on May 22.
He has such a sweet heart and loves to make others happy.
Our tradition is to have pancakes on your birthday, but my boy really likes oatmeal ..... so oatmeal it was!! :) (For future reference, candles begin to melt in hot oatmeal!)
We also had a fun lunch out at Cheesecake Factory!
Emma Kate made Owen a Toy Story Birthday banner. It was really sweet!
Happy Birthday BIG BOY!
